Hospice Association of Ontario (HAO)

Hospice of Waterloo Region is a member in good standing with the Hospice Association of Ontario.

The Hospice Association of Ontario is Canada's largest volunteer hospice organization, consisting of more than 180 community-based volunteer organizations providing high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care for individuals living with a life-threatening illness, and those who care for them.

The Hospice Association's mission is to ensure that their members consistently deliver the finest end-of-life care possible to individuals with life-threatening conditions, their families and friends.

Donner Canadian Foundation Awards

For the past 6 years, Hospice of Waterloo Region has been a finalist for the Donner Canadian Foundation Award for Excellence in the Delivery of Social Services.

The Donner Awards is Canada's largest and most prestigious awards program for non-profit organizations. By rewarding excellence, and encouraging best practices and greater accountability, the long-term goal of the Donner Awards Program is to increase public confidence and support for Canada's non-profit sector.

Both Hospice’s Volunteer Visiting Program and Bereavement Walking Group Program have been recognized by the Donner Canadian Foundation as excelling in the delivery of social services.
