Hospice Family Centre
Many individuals and families in our community face the challenge of living with a life threatening illness, and while more and more people are treated, many are not cured. Hospice reaches out to individuals and families who need support as soon as they are told that the future is uncertain. No one should have to navigate the health care system alone or end up in crisis. Hospice helps make the last months or even the last year of life comfortable and peaceful for individuals and their caregivers.
Our Hospice Family Centre will:
- Enhance the quality of our Volunteer Visiting Program through an improved training and education facility
- Offer supportive programs and services for volunteers, clients and families including specialized programs for children and the bereaved
- Offer complementary day programs such as Therapeutic Touch, yoga, horticultural, music & art programs
- Provide the community access to a centre for hospice palliative care education which includes training for volunteers, and workshops/conferences for health care professionals and the public at large
