Capital Campaign Update
In June 2009, Hospice of Waterloo Region purchased a five thousand square foot building at 298 Lawrence Avenue in Kitchener, to become the permanent home of the Hospice Family Centre.
After months of renovations, Hospice staff moved into the new facility on April 23rd, 2010. Schiedel Construction worked very hard to keep the project on track and on budget. We would like to thank them for working so diligently on this project and accommodating our questions and requests.
It has been a seven-year dream in the making, but we have achieved our goal of owning one central facility where palliative care physicians, nurses, educators, spiritual care providers and hospice volunteers can work together under one roof to provide seamless access to palliative care services for our clients.
Due to the generosity of our volunteers and community supporters, Hospice holds no mortgage on this property and we have been able to create a space that is warm and inviting for our volunteers, clients and their families. We are very proud of the new Hospice Family Centre, and we know that this facility will serve us well now, and for many, many years to come.
