Organizational Volunteers
Provide much needed support around the Gies Family Centre and Cook Family Residence, inside our kitchen, laundry, reception areas, and gardens. These volunteers help us keep our facility running smoothly and looking beautiful!
Organizational Volunteers Opportunities
Organizational Volunteer opportunities include:
- Garden Volunteer
- Front Office Volunteer
- Reception Volunteer
- Laundry Volunteer
- Kitchen or Baking Volunteer
- Committee Member
- Administrative Projects
- Light Maintenance
- Music in the Residence
Training & Other Requirements to be an Organizational Volunteer
- Must be at least 18+ years of age
- Complete 3 online Hospice Palliative Care of Ontario modules
- Attend 2-hour in-person Hospice Waterloo Region Orientation Receive program specific training
- Provide required documentation (i.e. police check, references)
- Submit all necessary documentation before placement into the active position
- A time commitment of one year is preferred
Get Started in Six Easy Steps!
- Submit an application that includes three references
- Meet with our Volunteer Coordinator for an interview
- Complete training (mix of in-person and e-learning)
- Provide required paperwork (i.e. police check)
- Complete any role-specific training
- And get started with a weekly or bi-weekly role!
